Student Massage

Professional Training, Personal Care

At 4 Elements, we are proud to mentor the future of the massage therapy industry. Our student practitioners have completed their foundational academic training and are currently in the final stages of their clinical practicum. When you book a student massage, you are receiving a thoughtful, comprehensive treatment from an individual who is passionate about their craft and eager to apply the latest therapeutic techniques.

Every student session is conducted with the same professional standards as our registered staff. These practitioners are refining their skills in assessment, pressure control, and treatment planning, making this a wonderful opportunity to receive focused care while contributing to a student’s professional growth.

A Helpful and Thorough Experience

Because our students are still in the learning phase, you may find that they take a little extra time to discuss your health history or explain their treatment plan. This attention to detail ensures that you receive a safe and effective massage tailored to your needs.

Quality Assurance: Students have completed rigorous schooling and are working toward their 2200-hour provincial accreditation.

Accessible Rates: Enjoy the benefits of professional bodywork at a lower cost than our registered therapist sessions.

Supervised Excellence: Our senior staff and clinic directors provide oversight to ensure the highest standard of patient care is maintained.

Frequently Asked Questions

Enjoy a calming, comfortable experience designed to help your body relax while your therapist works to relieve tension and restore balance.

Can I use my insurance for a student massage?

No, most insurance providers in Alberta require a therapist to have their full RMT registration number to be eligible for reimbursement. Student massages are priced lower to reflect this, making them a great option for those without coverage or those who have exhausted their yearly benefits.

If you have a health spending account, you may be eligible to use it towards student treatments. Please inquire specifically with your provider.

Is the massage any different from a regular one?

The actual techniques and the flow of the massage will be very similar to a professional session. The main difference is that the student may spend more time on the initial consultation and may be more deliberate with their movements as they gain clinical confidence.

Can I provide feedback to the student?

Yes, we highly encourage it. Honest feedback regarding pressure and communication is a vital part of their learning process. We may even ask you to fill out a short, simple evaluation form after your session.
